Talented senior high school students wishing to be engineers and scientists can now apply for the DOST Scholarship. The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) has extended its undergraduate scholarship programs, RA 7687 and Merit, to senior high school students who want to pursue four- or five-year degrees in science and technology fields of study.

DOST Scholarship Online Application Guide

  1. You must be natural-born Filipino citizen.
  2. You must be of good moral character and in good health.
  3. Graduating Grade 12 male and female students in SY 2024-2025:
    • STEM STRAND: All students belonging to the STEM class
    • NON-STEM STRAND: You must be in the top 5% of the graduating class
  4. Graduate of Grade 12 before SY 2024-2025 and did not enroll in college yet:
    • STEM STRAND: All students belonging to the STEM class
    • NON-STEM STRAND: You Must be in the top 5% of the graduating class
    • Graduate of high school before the K-12 Program. You Must belong to the top 5% of the graduating class.
  5. You may have taken the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination but did not qualify for the scholarship; OR may have qualified for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but did not avail of the award; OR have not taken any DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination.
  6. You must not have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units.

Requirements for DOST-SEI Scholarship

  1. You can provide a certificate of good moral character – Form C
  2. You must submit a certificate of good health – Form D
  3. Principal’s Certification
    • If you are a Grade 12 Graduating/Graduated student in the STEM strand – Form E1
    • If you are a Grade 12 Graduating/Graduated student in NON-STEM strand and belongs to the upper 5% of the class Form – E2
    • If you are attending homeschool – Form E3
    • If you are under the Alternative Learning System Form E4
    • If you graduated in High School before the K-12 program and belongs to the upper 5% of the graduating class – Form E5
  4. You must submit a certificate of residency – Form F
  5. Your Parent’s must provide a certification showing you have no pending immigration application to another country – Form G
  6. DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination/Award – Form H
  7. Applicant’s Certification of No Post-Secondary Units – Form I
  8. Signed Declaration of Applicant and the Parent/Legal Guardian – Form J
  9. You need a passport size recent photos (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm or 1.8 inches x 1.4 inches)
  10. A copy of your Birth Certificate is required
  11. You’ll need to provide the proof of income for your parent’s, legal guardians or spouse. This can be your 2022 Income Tax Return (BIR Form 1701), an Employment Contract for OFWs, BIR Certificate of Exemption from Filing ITR, Certificate of Indigency, Certificate of Employment with Compensation, or Proof of Pension.
  12. If applicable, include a notarized affidavit if someone else is your guardian.
  13. If applicable, provide a marriage certificate.

DOST Scholarship Privileges

A. Regular Academic Year

  • Tuition and other school fees (₱40,000.00 per academic year)
  • Learning Materials and/or Connectivity Allowance – (₱10,000.00 per year)
  • Monthly Living Allowance – (₱8,000.00 / month
  • Clothing Allowance – ₱1,000.00 (1st Sem of 1st Year Only)
  • Transportation Allowance (for those studying outside of home province) – 1 economy-class roundtrip fare
  • Group Health and Accident Insurance – Premium
  • Thesis Allowance – ₱10,000.00
  • Graduation Allowance – ₱1,000.00

B. Mid-Year Term1 Allowance (if required in the curriculum)

  • Tuition and other school fees (up to ₱10,000.00)
  • Learning Materials or Connectivity Allowance – (₱2,000.00)
  • Monthly Living Allowance – (₱8,000.00 / month for two months)
  • Group Health and Accident Insurance – Premium
